Passive Cleaning path for critical zone access

The Passive Cleaning path for the access to critical areas it involves the use of contamination control mats starting from the basic peel-off mats to reach the ultrathin washable mats with only 1.5mm. thickness.

Peel-Off Mat

Il tappeto decontaminante a strappo rimane il più popolare, intuitivo e versatile nel suo impiego per le caratteristiche di base e che, per il suo impego, richiede solamente di rimuovere lo strato superiore numerato una volta saturo.

Anyone can use it with no demand for specific skills. Dimensions are contained (on average 60x120cm in blocks of 30 tears each) and are therefore intended to protect small areas, typical of pedestrian access, doors and small corridors.

You do not have to clean or wash, just tear the saturated layer, that’s it. Then the waste to be disposed of remains.

Here, the frequency of the single tear determines the real cost of this system. With a daily tear-off, the system can also be economically viable, but perhaps it's not practical, while the 2 tears per day ahead of cost management becomes a non-indifferent variable to take into account.

For adeeper analysis, it is important to note that in proximity to critical environments are not able, for example, to comply with GMP’s cleaning and washing standards that are observed for the surrounding floorings.

Washable contamination control mat

A more effective level of contamination control, typical of larger transit areas, is solved by using washable decontamination mats, and with a longer-term approach.

Where the size and the ability to comply with common GMP cleanliness standards are required, then the washable decontamination mat offers the most advanced solution.

Coverage width, daily maintenance and cleaning methods are met by using washable decontamination mats and the Passive Cleaning path gets more and more consistency.

Also for pedestrian transit (eg long corridors), washable decontaminant mats with wide coverage (up to 120x300cm) are available and with the same method of laying a peel-off mat, ie with a pre-adhesive bottom.

Peel- off or Washable mat? Which is right ma to choose?

Some key points can guide you in choosing the right device, resulting in both application and end-to-end differences between the peel-off mat and the washable decontaminant mat:Tappeto_decontaminante_lavabile_120_x_300cm

1. Repetitive installation / replacement of the peel-off, in any case at the end of the 30 sheets of each block, towards a single installation on an annual basis for washable decontamination mats.

2. Small dimensions of the cover area for the peel-off mats that can be wider with washable decontamination mats.

3. Peel-off mandatory once the sheet is saturated towards a nearly unlimited washing-out possibility of the decontaminating carpet. This point has a decisive role in the economic evaluation between the two systems.

4. High ecological impact of the peel-off mat with the need for daily disposal of saturated sheets to an ordinary maintenance of the washable decontaminating mat in accordance with the normal GMP of a floor in critical areas

5. Need for a flat storage of peel-off mat, each time to be replaced to a longer replacement base for washable mat.
